In Condé-sur-l'Escaut, the Chabaud-Latour leisure park is secured by LuminoKrom®.

At the Chabaud-Latour leisure park, the town of Condé-sur-l'Escaut has renovated a stretch of footpath between the water features and the dovecote, using innovative photoluminescent markings. Carried out by Dubois TP, the project incorporates LuminoKrom® paint, capable of capturing daylight and releasing it at night without consuming any energy. The device, visible in the dark, ensures greater safety for walkers, cyclists and joggers, while respecting nocturnal biodiversity. The cost of this refurbishment, including road markings, amounts to 25,000€, or 10% of the commune's annual road budget.

A solution tailored to soft paths and energy efficiency issues

Designed to glow naturally without electricity, LuminoKrom® paint is an ideal visual marker on unlit road. While it is not intended for use on roads (where vehicle headlights would mask its effect), it is perfectly suited to pedestrian walkways and cycle paths. This choice is in line with our desire to combine innovation, safety and energy transition, particularly at a time when public lighting is being cut back. Encouraged by the success of this first project, the commune plans to deploy the system on other soft paths.
