These contests aim to promote virtuous initiatives in road safety carried out by entrepreneurs, start-ups, groups and students, and encourage innovation in this field.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc; text-align: justify;\">\n<li>The Innovation Prize, aimed at businesses, aims to label innovative products and services that make the road safer.<\/li>\n<li>The Innovation Challenge, meanwhile, rewards the three best student initiatives by awarding them endowments of 3,000 to 12,000 euros.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The juries of these two competitions, chaired by Emmanuel Barbe (then interministerial delegate for road safety *) for the Innovation Prize, and by David Julliard (assistant to the delegate) for the Challenge Innovation, and made up of road safety professionals, met in January and February 2020 and selected 21 best finalist innovations from 68 applications for the Innovation Prize and 47 for the Innovation Challenge.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<article class=\"paragraphs-wrapper\" data-v-5d60835e=\"\" data-v-4ff8f88c=\"\">\n<div data-v-22a3c972=\"\" data-v-72d33fa8=\"\" data-v-7beee112=\"\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">LuminoKrom\u00ae luminescent marking nominated in the category \"Improvement of road and vehicle safety\"<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">LuminoKrom\u00ae, developed by OliKrom in partnership with Eiffage Route, is a photoluminescent road marking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This road paint is naturally charged in the sun and \/ or in the presence of an artificial light source (interior lighting, car headlight, etc.) and lights up at night, forming a \"light guide\" for more than 10 hours.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This innovation was supported within the framework of the I-Street project, winner of the Investments for the Future Program (PIA) operated by the ADEME (French Environment and Energy Management Agency). This patented innovation was developed within the R&amp;D department of\u00a0OliKrom. Four years were needed to obtain a paint conforming to professional use with optimal luminous performance (in intensity and duration) to ensure visibility throughout the night (+10 hours).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2018, LuminoKrom\u00ae photoluminescent paint was successfully applied on a cycle path. In 2019, this innovation in the field of road infrastructure was labeled by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.idrrim.com\/Innovation\/programmes-nationaux\/comite-innovation-routes-rues-cirr\/laureats_2019.htm\"><strong>Comit\u00e9 d\u2019Innovation Routes et Rues.<\/strong><\/a> LuminoKrom\u00ae photoluminescent markings are now widely deployed in France to secure cycling facilities and pedestrian paths.
