An innovation for night-time safety on the Colleville-Montgomery greenway<\/h2>\n

The Colleville-Montgomery greenway in Normandy now benefits from the application of LuminoKrom\u00ae photoluminescent paint. This innovation, which stores daylight and releases it at night, enhances user safety in poorly lit or unlit areas. In addition to improving visibility, LuminoKrom\u00ae offers an environmentally-friendly solution by reducing the need for energy-intensive street lighting. This project is part of a soft mobility approach aimed at making night-time travel safer, while respecting the environmental commitments of local authorities.<\/p>\n

Since the end of July 2023, luminescent markings have been applied to the green lane running from the village to the beach along the RD60A in Colleville-Montgomery (Calvados). This marking has raised questions among users. We explain.<\/p>\n

This path is part of the network of cycle paths linking the communes of the C\u00f4te de Nacre, developed by the Caen-la-Mer urban community. \"We had to mark both sides of the path, and instead of white stripes, we decided, in agreement with the commune, to apply green photoluminescent paint, as the adjoining road has no public lighting. This system is encouraged by Ademe (Agence de la Transition Ecologique), as it helps to reduce electricity consumption\", explains Romain Lacaze, project manager at Caen-la-mer's Infrastructure Department.<\/p>\n
