La V\u00e9lodyss\u00e9e becomes an illuminated bike path with LuminoKrom\u00ae on the Arcachon Basin<\/h2>\n

LuminoKrom\u00ae photoluminescent paint will illuminate 35 kilometers of the Nord-Bassin bike path at night. The work, carried out by Coban this year, will cover the V\u00e9lodyss\u00e9e crossing the territory and the Biganos-Bazas departmental track, Biganos-Mios section.<\/p>\n

Elected representatives from the Communaut\u00e9 d'agglom\u00e9ration du Bassin d'Arcachon nord (Coban) attended an immersive demonstration of this innovation on June 14 in Ar\u00e8s, observing its nocturnal lighting effects. The D\u00e9partement, which manages the V\u00e9lodyss\u00e9e, is also involved in this project.<\/p>\n

In an article, Sud Ouest highlights the initiative to equip a section of the V\u00e9lodyss\u00e9e at the Bassin d'Arcachon with LuminoKrom\u00ae photoluminescent paint. By capturing daylight and releasing it at night, this paint offers cyclists enhanced visibility without the need for electric lighting. The aim is to make night-time journeys on this busy cycleway safer, by improving visibility for users while respecting the environment.<\/p>\n

This pilot project embodies the desire of local authorities to promote soft, sustainable mobility, while meeting the safety needs of cyclists. If the experiment is successful, it could inspire other local authorities to adopt LuminoKrom\u00ae for their infrastructure. The Bassin d'Arcachon is thus becoming a model of innovation and ecological transition, by offering a luminous and environmentally-friendly solution for its cycle paths.<\/p>\n
