In the first quarter of 2022, the City of Fribourg installed photoluminescent markings on the Promenade Beda-Hefti to improve pedestrian safety.

Applied in-house, LuminoKrom® paint ensures continuous visibility after dark, making it easier for users to find their way around and reducing the risk of falling or going the wrong way, particularly in poorly lit areas.

A sustainable, environmentally-friendly solution

By capturing daylight and releasing it for up to 10 hours at night, LuminoKrom® offers an innovative alternative to artificial lighting. This project demonstrates the City of Fribourg's commitment to safe and environmentally-friendly pedestrian infrastructures, contributing to sustainable urban planning that is adapted to soft mobility.
