Nighttime security for the bike path in a wooded area

A reinforced route for a forest bike path

In October 2025, the Chilly-Mazarin Town Hall launched a project to secure a bike path running along a wooded area between the municipal cemetery and the Jean Moulin roundabout.

The Île de France Marquage applicator deployed our LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint as axial guidance along the entire length of the road, supplemented by edge markings on a particularly winding section. This visual reinforcement allows cyclists to anticipate a sharp turn and approach the route safely, in an area where light levels drop rapidly at dusk.

Natural visibility to ensure safe soft mobility

The wooded environment through which this cycle path runs provides a pleasant setting but is subject to significant variations in light levels. Our LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint offers a suitable and sustainable solution, providing autonomous nighttime guidance without the need for electrical installation. The markings absorb daylight and emit a continuous green glow at night, giving cyclists a clear reference point to stay on course. The markings on the edges, added to the sharp bend area, play a key role: they provide a visual warning of the approaching bend, improve anticipation, and reduce the risk of cyclists veering off the path.

This solution enhances user safety while preserving the natural atmosphere of the forest floor, without light pollution or impact on wildlife. LuminoKrom® thus enhances this everyday cycle route, offering additional comfort for morning commutes and evening returns. Thanks to our technology, the cycle path linking the Chilly cemetery to the Jean Moulin roundabout becomes a more peaceful, clearer route that is perfectly suited to soft mobility.

Testimonial

« Photoluminescent markings have the advantage of being less expensive and more environmentally friendly than lighting by street lamps. The effectiveness of this paint has been proven by positive feedback from cyclists. »
