Creation of a photoluminescent greenway in Lagord

A safe route between Lagord and L’Houmeau

In September 2025, the La Rochelle Urban Community, Lagord Town Hall, L'Houmeau Town Hall, and the Charente-Maritime Department developed a new greenway connecting Lagord to the Domaine du Château – Vacancéole, then crossing the woods before running alongside Rue de La Rochelle to the entrance to L'Houmeau.

The Signaux Girod Saint-Jean-d'Angély applicator carried out T3 axial marking using our LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint, providing a continuous and visible marker to structure the route. This new route now allows users to avoid the busy road by enjoying a pleasant, smooth journey that is completely separate from motorized traffic.

Light guidance for safer and more comfortable travel

Since 2021, the La Rochelle metropolitan area has been increasing the number of photoluminescent installations to encourage soft mobility and improve safety for nighttime travel. On this new greenway, our LuminoKrom® paint is proving to be a real asset: the markings absorb daylight to provide constant luminous guidance at night, without consuming any energy. Thanks to this glow, visible from up to 80 meters away, cyclists and pedestrians can naturally anticipate the twists and turns of the route, identify sensitive areas, and enjoy an intuitive reading of the route, even in dark or wooded environments.

This enhanced visibility significantly improves user comfort, reduces the risk of collisions, and ensures a pleasant, continuous journey between Lagord and L'Houmeau. The route thus becomes a safe, practical, and attractive alternative to the busy Rue de La Rochelle.
