During the day, LuminoKrom® oatmeal brings a soft, natural atmosphere to interior spaces. This light beige, with its subtle mineral tones, creates a warm, uniform look that blends elegantly into living rooms, bedrooms, offices, and reception areas. More enveloping than classic white, the oat color acts as a soothing decorative canvas, ideal for interior design projects with a refined aesthetic. LuminoKrom® Avoine water-based photoluminescent paint is easy to apply, just like conventional interior wall paint. By following a few essential recommendations, you can achieve a uniform decorative finish and optimal luminescence.

Before starting, the surface must be clean, dry, and sound. It is important to remove all dust, grease, or residual moisture. In the case of a new wall, such as drywall or recently plastered wall, it is advisable to wait about a month to ensure that the surface is completely stable.

To ensure the best photoluminescent performance, applying a white undercoat is recommended when the wall is not already light in color. This base promotes light recharge of the paint and allows for more uniform and lasting light emission in the dark.

LuminoKrom® Oat paint is then applied in two coats, using a roller or brush, just like traditional interior decorative paint. Ready to use, it requires no dilution or special preparation. Its comfortable open time and water-based acrylic formula make it really easy to apply, which is appreciated by both professionals and individuals undertaking interior decoration projects.

Steps for applying oat water-based paint for design

Prepare the wall: Clean the surface to be painted thoroughly with clean water or a suitable cleaner. The surface must be perfectly clean, dry, and sound before application.
Define the areas to be painted: Protect neighboring surfaces with masking tape or stencils to achieve clean edges and a neat finish.
Create a light base if necessary: If the wall is not already light in color, apply a uniform coat of white paint. This step improves light recharge and optimizes photoluminescent performance.
Allow the undercoat to dry: Follow the drying time indicated by the undercoat manufacturer, which is usually around two hours.
Prepare the LuminoKrom® paint: Before application, mix the photoluminescent paint thoroughly in its container to obtain a homogeneous consistency.
Apply the first coat: Apply a first coat of paint evenly with a short-bristle roller or brush, ensuring good coverage over the entire surface.

How much paint should I plan for my project?

For a recommended two-coat application, average coverage is approximately 900 g/m².
As a guide, this corresponds to:
approximately 5 m² covered with a 5 kg container,
approximately 15 m² with a 15 kg container.
These values may vary depending on the porosity of the substrate and the application conditions.

How does paint become luminous once applied?
