LuminoKrom® Sky Blue photoluminescent decorative paint is part of a fresh and contemporary approach to interior design, where the lightness of a very light blue is fully expressed in daylight before revealing another facet at nightfall. Developed exclusively for indoor use, this water-based acrylic paint combines a uniform, luminous sky effect with a soft, long-lasting green luminescence in the dark, bringing depth and serenity to spaces.

During the day, the sky blue shade LuminoKrom® diffuses a feeling of lightness and clarity in interior spaces. This very light blue, inspired by the tones of the sky and natural light, brings a fresh and serene atmosphere that blends harmoniously into living rooms, bedrooms, offices, or reception areas. TIPS FOR EFFECTIVE WATER-BASED PAINT APPLICATION

LuminoKrom® Sky Blue water-based photoluminescent paint is easy to apply, following the same principles as conventional interior wall paint. By following a few best practices, you can achieve a decorative, luminous, and uniform finish, as well as optimal luminescence.

Before application, the surface must be clean, dry, and in perfect condition. It is essential to remove any dust, grease, or residual moisture. For new walls, such as drywall or recently plastered surfaces, it is recommended to wait approximately one month to ensure that the surface is completely stable.

If the wall is not already light in color, applying a white undercoat is recommended in order to optimize photoluminescent performance. This base promotes light recharge of the paint and ensures more uniform and lasting light emission in the dark.

The paint is then applied in two even coats, using a roller or brush, just like traditional interior decorative paint. Ready to use, it requires no dilution or special preparation. Its water-based acrylic formula, combined with a comfortable open time, makes it really easy to apply, both for professionals and individuals undertaking soothing, contemporary interior decoration projects.

 

Steps for applying oat water-based paint for design

  1. Prepare the surface: Start by thoroughly cleaning the wall with clean water or a suitable cleaning product. The surface must be perfectly clean, dry, and sound before application.
  2. Mark out the area to be painted: Protect adjacent surfaces using masking tape or stencils to achieve clean lines and a neat finish.
  3. Apply a white undercoat if necessary: If the wall is not already light in color, apply an even coat of white paint. This base promotes light recharge and optimizes the photoluminescent effect.
  4. Allow the undercoat to dry for the recommended time: Allow the undercoat to dry according to the manufacturer's recommendations, usually for about two hours.
  5. Prepare the photoluminescent paint: Before use, open the LuminoKrom® container and mix the paint thoroughly to obtain a smooth texture ready for application.
  6. Apply the first coat: Apply a first coat of paint evenly with a short-bristle roller or brush, ensuring that it is spread evenly over the entire surface.
  7. Allow to dry between coats: Wait approximately two hours before applying the next coat.
  8. Apply the second coat: Apply a second coat to enhance the uniformity of the finish and ensure optimal luminescence.
  9. Final drying time: Allow the painted surface to dry for 24 hours before use. During this period, avoid contact and friction in order to preserve the quality of the finish.

Is the application similar to that of a traditional wall paint?

Is the white undercoat essential?

Applying a white undercoat is recommended to achieve optimal luminescence. This light base facilitates light recharge and improves light output in the dark. If the wall is already light-colored, white, and in excellent condition, an additional undercoat may not be necessary.

 

How much paint should I plan for my project?

For a two-coat application, average consumption is approximately 900 g/m². As a guide, this corresponds to:
approximately 5 m² covered with a 5 kg container,
approximately 15 m² with a 15 kg container.
These values may vary depending on the porosity of the substrate and the application conditions.

 

How does paint become luminous once applied?
