Description

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION – Glow in the dark paint for metal

Do you want to improve the visibility of a metal object when it is dark outside?

Our photoluminescent paint, specially designed for metal surfaces, provides an effective solution for ensuring safe movement in areas with little or no lighting. In industrial or urban environments, the absence of light makes structures difficult to see: posts, handrails, technical equipment, and furniture become potential obstacles.

The Yellow version of our photoluminescent paint is easy to apply to iron, steel, and many metal alloys. Developed to guarantee excellent adhesion and long-lasting durability, it can be used both indoors and outdoors. Available in almond green, white, and yellow, it allows you to select the most appropriate shade for your site’s requirements, whether it is an industrial space, urban development, or technical equipment requiring enhanced visibility.

PAINT PERFORMANCE

  • 6 hours of brightness outdoors with complete autonomy
  • Class E certified (CE ISO17398 standard)
  • Pigments recharge in daylight, even under cover in the middle of a forest or in poor conditions (rain, fog…), or artificially indoors
  • Recharge capacity in just a few minutes

APPLICATION

TIPS FOR EFFECTIVE PAINTWORK

To achieve effective luminescence, it is essential to apply a white undercoat first. This first coat plays a key role: it enhances the photoluminescent paint's ability to re-emit the light stored throughout the day.

To ensure consistent and long-lasting results, it is important to follow the thickness and weight recommendations specified for each product, including our paint specially formulated for metal surfaces. By following these recommendations, a single coat of luminescent paint is sufficient to ensure effective marking and long-lasting visibility.

In general, applying an undercoat is highly recommended before painting a metal surface. It improves paint adhesion and creates a protective barrier against corrosion, rust, and various external stresses. This preparation is particularly essential on non-ferrous metals, which are often less receptive to paint and more sensitive to oxidation.

LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint for metals is best applied with a spray gun, using nozzles that ensure even and controlled coverage.

Packaged ready to use, LuminoKrom® paint requires no dilution: it can be used immediately after opening, for simple, quick application that is perfectly suited to projects requiring efficient implementation.

Steps for applying metal paint

  1. First prepare the surface by cleaning it thoroughly, then lightly sand it to obtain a clean, even surface. After rinsing, allow to dry completely before continuing with the application.

  2. Then apply a white undercoat of approximately 400 g/m². A drying time of 30 minutes is required to ensure optimal adhesion of the photoluminescent paint.

  3. Before applying the yellow tint, mix the LuminoKrom® paint thoroughly and check that your equipment is ready.

  4. Apply the photoluminescent coating, strictly following the recommendations for weight and speed indicated in the technical data sheet.

  5. Then leave to dry for approximately 45 minutes. This time may vary slightly depending on the temperature and external conditions at the time of application.

ADVANTAGES OF USING GLOW METAL PAINT

Our photoluminescent paint for metal works on the principle of photoluminescence: during the day, the coating accumulates natural or artificial light, then emits a visible glow as soon as darkness falls.

Its formula has been specially designed to ensure excellent adhesion to metal surfaces. It combines paint film resistance with nighttime visibility, thanks to pigments capable of emitting a lasting glow on all types of metal structures.

What is metal paint?

Metal paint is a coating designed to ensure optimal adhesion to metal surfaces and provide them with lasting protection against external damage. It acts as a shield, preventing rust, corrosion, and wear caused by weather conditions, UV rays, temperature variations, and mechanical stress.

Suitable for many types of metals such as iron, steel, aluminum, cast iron, and other alloys, these paints generally incorporate specific technical properties, including anti-rust or anti-oxidation effects. Their formulation preserves the integrity of the substrate while ensuring long-lasting durability, regardless of the environment in which they are applied.

What surfaces can our LuminoKrom® product be painted on?

Paints designed for metal surfaces are used in many contexts, both to protect equipment exposed to weather conditions and to extend the life of industrial structures. Their main advantage lies in their ability to limit corrosion, which is essential for maintaining the strength and integrity of metal parts.

In urban and industrial environments, LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint can be used to highlight a wide range of outdoor metal structures: walkways, railings, utility poles, containers, handling equipment, and traffic areas. In addition to protecting the surface, it instantly improves the visibility of these elements when they are plunged into darkness.

The LuminoKrom® range is compatible with most metals used in construction or industry (iron, steel, aluminum, and other oxidation-sensitive alloys) and is a suitable solution when the goal is to combine corrosion resistance with nighttime visibility.
