Description

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION – Yellow water-based glow in the dark paint for outdoors

LuminoKrom® – Yellow interior water-based paint incorporates OliKrom’s patented photoluminescent technology, renowned for its stability and performance in industrial environments. Thanks to its smart pigments, the paint stores natural or artificial ambient light and then releases it in the dark, creating autonomous lighting without the need for wiring or power supply.

Designed for industrial, logistics, or service sector indoor spaces, this yellow version offers immediate visibility both day and night. Its color is visible under normal conditions, making it easy to identify sensitive areas, while its brightness in the dark helps to ensure safety in warehouses, technical rooms, corridors, enclosed parking lots, and maintenance areas.

Depending on site requirements and desired performance, the paint can be applied in one or two coats:

  • 1 layer: an economical solution sufficient for standard emergency markings, with class C luminescence suitable for everyday needs.
  • 2 layers: a reinforced layer ensuring class E luminescence, offering up to 6 hours of visibility in indoor darkness.

This flexibility of application allows the light output to be adjusted to the industrial context, while optimizing costs and operational safety requirements.

PAINT PERFORMANCE

  • Market-leading brightness duration, up to 6 hours indoors for a 2-coat application
  • Until the Certified D class (CE ISO17398 standard)
  • Quickly recharges in natural outdoor or artificial light
  • Recharge capacity in just a few minutes

APPLICATION

TIPS FOR EFFECTIVE WATER-BASED PAINT APPLICATION

Before application, the substrate must be perfectly prepared: it must be clean, dry, and free of any traces of oil, dust, or grease. The substrate must be free of residual moisture and capillary action to ensure lasting adhesion of the coating.

To ensure maximum luminescence, LuminoKrom® Yellow paint must be applied to a light-colored base coat, ideally white. This base promotes light reflection and amplifies the intensity of the photoluminescent glow in the dark.

Depending on the desired performance, two application modes are possible:

  • 1 layer: for standard safety marking, equivalent to class C luminescence
  • 2 layers: for enhanced protection, ensuring up to 8 hours of visibility indoors (class D)

The product can be applied with a roller or brush. For a uniform result, we recommend using a short-pile roller (6–8 mm) or a brush compatible with water-based paints.

LuminoKrom® paint is supplied ready to use: it requires no dilution or primer. It should not be applied by spraying, in order to ensure even thickness and optimal light performance.

Steps for applying white water-based paint for industry

  1. Preparation of the surface: Clean the surface thoroughly with clean water or a mild detergent to remove all traces of grease, dust, or dirt. Ensure that the surface is completely clean and dry before starting.

  2. Marking area demarcation: Use masking tape or stencils to achieve precise outlines, particularly for directional lines, safety markers, or high-visibility pictograms.

  3. Application of the undercoat: Apply a first white coat (approximately 400 g/m²) to optimize light reflection and amplify the photoluminescent effect of LuminoKrom® Yellow paint.

  4. Drying time for the undercoat: Allow to dry for approximately 2 hours before applying the luminescent paint.

  5. Preparation of the paint: Mix the product thoroughly to obtain a smooth texture and ensure even application.

  6. Application of yellow photoluminescent paint: Apply a first coat at a rate of approximately 350 g/m², following the technical recommendations for the LuminoKrom® range.

  7. Application of a second coat (optional): After a drying time of approximately 2 hours, you can apply a second coat (same weight) to enhance brightness and achieve Class E, ensuring extended visibility indoors.

  8. Complete drying: Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before reopening the area to traffic. During this time, protect the surface from moisture and foot traffic.

  9. Cleaning equipment: Clean your tools using only clean water, without adding any solvents, as the paint is water-based.

ADVANTAGES OF PHOTOLUMINESCENT WATER-BASED PAINT FOR INDUSTRY

A paint specially designed for industrial use meets high standards of resistance, safety, and durability, which are essential in technical indoor professional environments. It helps protect surfaces, structure traffic areas, and prevent risks within industrial and logistics buildings. This type of paint is formulated to withstand the typical stresses of workshops and warehouses: friction, repeated traffic, humidity, chemicals, and confined atmospheres.

Some solutions, such as LuminoKrom® Yellow photoluminescent paint, offer an additional decisive advantage: autonomous visibility in the dark. This feature is particularly useful for enhancing the visibility of escape routes, securing stairways, or highlighting sensitive areas in the event of a power outage. Thanks to their reliable adhesion and prolonged luminous capacity, photoluminescent industrial paints guarantee high-performance marking that meets the requirements of production, logistics, or technical sites where visual safety is a major concern.

Why choose waterbased paint for industrial applications?

Opting for water-based paint in an industrial environment allows you to reconcile technical requirements, operational safety, and environmental protection. Its water-based formula, free of aggressive solvents, limits applicators' exposure to irritants and reduces the environmental impact of the work. With low VOC emissions, it generates very little odor and reduces the risks associated with flammability, a particularly valuable advantage in warehouses, workshops, technical rooms, or confined spaces where ventilation is often limited.

From a technical standpoint, water-based paints designed for industrial use offer excellent adhesion to many interior surfaces (concrete, plaster, coatings, etc.), while ensuring long-lasting resistance to wear and tear, repetitive movements, and everyday stresses. They dry quickly, can be easily cleaned with water, and allow for effective maintenance without the use of solvents.

The LuminoKrom® – Yellow photoluminescent version combines the benefits of a clean, low-emission formulation with the reliability of OliKrom® lighting technology, ensuring high-performance, durable indoor signage in demanding industrial environments.

What types of surface can be painted with these products?

Water-based industrial paint is characterized by its versatility and compatibility with a wide range of interior surfaces. It can be applied to walls, ceilings, and partitions as well as certain high-traffic areas on floors to meet signage, safety, and material protection needs in professional environments.

Mineral substrates such as concrete, plaster, cement, brick, or other coatings provide excellent adhesion and guarantee uniform results. Indoors, the yellow color allows for immediate identification of markings in normal conditions, while amplifying the visibility of photoluminescent markings when lighting is insufficient.

The paint can also be applied to properly prepared metal surfaces, or to certain composite substrates, provided they are clean, dry, and free of oil or grease.

Thanks to its water-based formula, LuminoKrom® Yellow paint is easy to apply with a roller or brush, creating durable, high-performance signage that is ideal for stairways, utility corridors, storage areas, indoor pedestrian walkways, and emergency exits.
