LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint registered in Le Havre

Development of a safe greenway

In June 2021, the urban community of Le Havre Seine Métropole undertook work to improve user safety on a greenway linking Le Havre to Sainte-Adresse. This path, starting at the intersection of rue Albert Copieux and rue Chef de Caux, extends over 2 kilometers.

To improve night-time visibility, LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint was applied as guide markings on the riverbanks, with specific alerts for danger zones. The work was carried out by Aximum, with the aim of providing effective luminous guidance, particularly in areas without street lighting, thus enhancing the safety of cyclists and pedestrians.

An innovative solution for safe night-time travel

LuminoKrom® paint is charged with natural or artificial light during the day and released at night, emitting a visible glow for several hours without the need for a power supply. This technology offers a cost-effective alternative to street lighting installation, costing around 50 times less and requiring very little installation time.

By improving the visibility of road infrastructures in the dark, LuminoKrom® helps to reduce the risk of accidents, particularly in rural or interurban areas with no lighting.

What's more, by limiting light pollution, this solution respects the environment while ensuring greater safety for road users.
