Innovative signage for safer travel in the dark

Efficient signage for safe access to platforms

In September 2023, SNCF Gares et Connexions launched an experiment at Cessieu station (38) by applying LuminoKrom® photoluminescent marking to platform edges and track crossings.

Produced by Signature, the marking is designed to improve visibility of train entrances in the event of lighting cuts, thus reducing the risk of passengers falling or becoming disoriented.

A sustainable solution tailored to rail infrastructures

LuminoKrom® captures daylight and releases it for 10 hours at night, guaranteeing efficient signalling without energy consumption. This test is part of an innovative approach to rail infrastructure safety, offering an eco-responsible, high-performance alternative for improving safety in stations.
