Innovative markings to guide users in areas without street lighting

Improved visibility for bus stops in initial tests in Trappes, Mantes and Les Mureaux

As part of IDF Mobilités' energy transition, Syqbus (Cars Perrier), RATP Group, launched an experiment in July 2022 to improve the visibility of bus stops without lighting.

LuminoKrom® photoluminescent markings were applied to the bollards of several bus stops being tested in the municipalities of Trappes, Mantes and Les Mureaux. Produced in-house using aerosol cans, this innovative solution makes it easier for users to identify their stop, even in the dark.

A sustainable alternative to street lighting for urban mobility

LuminoKrom® captures daylight and releases it for 10 hours at night, providing night-time visibility without energy consumption. This project is part of Île-de-France Mobilités' drive to offer innovative, environmentally-friendly solutions to improve accessibility to public transport.

This experiment could pave the way for wider deployment across the Île-de-France network, contributing to passenger safety and comfort while reducing environmental impact.
