Photoluminescent markings to improve road safety

After an initial Brazilian project on a cycle path, this time it involves road markings to guide users as soon as the sun goes down.

Better visibility to guide motorists and cyclists

In November 2023, CARF Ambiental applied LuminoKrom® to the roads in the Itaipu district of Niterói, to improve the night-time visibility of broken lines and directional arrows.

The photoluminescent markings, produced in-house, enable road users to anticipate their route in low-light conditions, thus reducing the risk of accidents.

A sustainable alternative for effective signage

LuminoKrom® captures daylight and releases it for up to 10 hours at night, ensuring energy-free signage. This development marks Niterói's commitment to improved road safety and an eco-responsible, sustainable infrastructure for urban and suburban travel.
